FC 5877 is the same drawer without disk bays. Up to two 5802/5877 drawers per 12X loop; mixing with 5796 on one loop is not supported.

An expansion drawer adds slots or drive bays when the server itself is full. It is often the difference between upgrading a Power 7 and replacing it.
